*A bespoke ceremony is created to your specific wishes and involves time and correspondence between us and in the final writing of the ceremony it is prepared and tailored to your especial circumstances and desires.

**A legal simple, standard ceremony

The standard ceremony is offered only in the Scottish Borders and Edinburgh  at a fee of £250  - in this case you would simply provide essential information on a questionnaire and leave the rest to me. This ceremony is for those who do not want songs, rituals, hymns, and readings. It presupposes we do not enter into lots of correspondence or communication. If you later ask for additions and special features in the ceremony, then the fee automatically reverts to the bespoke fee of £350. You must specifically request the standard ceremony at the outset. It is not available for ceremonies booked through third parties such as wedding planners.  I cannot offer the standard ceremony in Spain.

Prices apply to the area about 40 miles around Kelso in the Scottish Borders and in Edinburgh.

I will travel further afield but will need to charge for additional time and fuel costs but would agree these with you in advance,

Travel and time

Once I move beyond my home area , It means I spend more on travelling time and fuel costs and in some cases, overnight accommodation and must charge for this. This then is reflected in additional fees which would be agreed beforehand.

Fees reflect the following -

All communication in the design and planning of your ceremony
Time to plan, prepare and deliver the ceremony
Travel and time costs if within my home area.
There are no hidden costs. The price quoted is the price you pay.

SPAIN  / ESPANA

Bespoke services and ceremonies

In 2012, until 31th September,  I am available for ceremonies in Spain where I once lived for ten years until December 2010.

Whilst living in Spain the fee for a ceremony was 550 Euros. Although I have relocated to Scotland the only difference is I now have to charge in pounds sterling. The fee is £475. (I absorb my flight and one night's accommodation costs.) The fee must be paid in pounds Sterling.

My fee for a wedding blessing ceremony in Spain, provided it is within one hour of the major airports of Alicante, Barcelona, Girona, Madrid, Malaga, or Gibraltar is £475. Beyond this, I may have to charge a fuel surcharge and depending on schedules, one night's accommodation..

All taxes are included in the above prices. You will be asked to make a non-refundable booking fee deposit of £50 to secure a booking.

Fees reflect the following -

  • all ceremonies are created specifically for those concerned. I don´t, as many ministers do, offer "off-the-shelf" ceremonies which have been used many times over with only the names being changed. It takes time, therefore, to get to know people and their wishes and additional time may be needed where a multi-faith approach is needed

  • as much time and work goes into a ceremony with few guests as it does for a ceremony with large numbers of guests so the fee is the same

  • I don´t have a parish and as I get requests throughout the whole of Spain and other European countries, then for most of my ceremonies I have to travel major distances which incur travel costs and significant time. if your ceremony is outside my home area, fees will be clearly stated before you commit to a booking. It is important to know though that I am not a local minister, just round the corner, on a salary or stipend and do not have the support of an organised church

  • because of the vast geography that I cover, I usually do not get to meet with couples until the day and so most communication is by phone and e-mail.
